Fashion accessories and pets? (My next tidbit)?

My third premise-- dogs are not fashion accessories. Don't get one simply because it is cute. Too many people write questions whining about barking terriers, hyper shelties, bossy Bostons, guarding Akitas. Why in the world did they buy that breed? It is just a fact of life.... ducks swim, terriers bark, Bostons are bossy, Akitas guard, Yorkies yap, Poms know they weigh 190lbs,Collies and boxers are high-energy dogs.... Why do they come asking for answers to basically change the breed of the dog? Trying to make a Jack Russell not be active and bark is like trying to make a rooster not crow. Some things just are what they are. You can't change it. Dogs are not fashion accessories. Getting one just because it is cute is really not a good idea. Could most of us agree on that? And someone asked if I was testy today? Probably, I have been reading all the old questions. Peoples lack of wisdom is astounding. There are just some things about dogs we should know before we get them.

1. I agree with you whole heartedly Many people do not know the personalities of dogs and cats and that if you do the proper research you can find one that suits their lifestyle and that of the family to a tee. keep up the good work, some people need a jolt to get into gear.

3. I totally agree with you! I have a mutt, and i have no idea what breed she is, but we adopted her for companionship, its just a plus that shes adorable.
4. I completely agree. You are so right. These people need to look in to what they are buying or adopting. They have to find out its personality and be prepared with the right kind of knowledge. I also hate it when people abuse their pets.
