Clothes for teenager going camping in spring?

hi there iam a teenage girl and our youth group is going camping for the week in a cold climate, and i dont have a clue what to wear, as it will be pretty cold 24/7 all the time, and as a teenage girl i cant seem to keep warm, even in the warmest of temperatures, i would imagine i will need a lot of layers but i dont really know exactly what clothing and how many of each clothing to wear each day, i dont have money to buy expensive outdoor clothing,so the clothes will have to be my own. i also have pajamas that i will take, but they are shorts and t shirt, and i dont know if they will keep me warm, but i have to wear them, as i love them i also have yahoo messenger, feel free to help me through that aswell thanks

  1. take thermal pants and tops and wear tracksuit and jumper to bed at night....its not a fashion camp
  2. If you are truly camping, remember that you will have to carry anything you pack, so put aside your inhibitions and wear clothing you normally wouldn't. Also try to rewear clothing, as packing 7 pairs of pants and 7 sweaters takes up an amazing amount of space. Don't bother taking any extra things such as makeup and jewelry. You're in the woods (?) ....who's going to see you? Or even care what you look like? Keep your pack limited to necessities like what you might find in a hotel bathroom. If you aren't bothered by it, a single loose-fitting sweatshirt (nice thick pullover hoodie) over anything you wear should last you the whole week. A spare would be nice in case that one gets dirty. Two or three non-fashion blue jeans should last the week. I would suggest some flannel. This allows you to wear a regular T-shirt (longer sleeves, more warmth!), a flannel overshirt, a sweatshirt, and a winter or light jacket lets you maximize on layers and monopolize on heat. Get yourself some UnderArmor! The stuff is amazing! One thin layer hugs your body and keeps in a little extra heat. Be sure to get long-sleeved and long-legged ones. Mine are long enough that I can overlap with socks and gloves, covering everything. Bring a few pairs of ankle-length cotton socks and some warmer woolen ones-- use the cotton underneath to wick away moisture and wear the wool over them for warmth. As for shoes, walking shoes or hiking boots will serve you well. As far as your jammies go, if you are truly going to be in a cold climate, sleeping outdoors... you might want to rethink your darling tshirt and shorts approach. I would suggest at least upgrading to some flannel pants and a larger or longer sleeved shirt, if not a pair of sweats. If you do choose to stick with your colder pair, make sure you've got an extra blanket to layer into your sleeping bag. The temperature drops during the night, and your temperature drops while you are sleeping, so you stand a good chance of getting pretty darn cold. Good luck, and have a great trip!
