babies as fashion accessories?

Teenage pregnancy is obviously at a all time high in most countries and there are many reasons for this , but one I have been thinking about lately is the fact that so many stars are having these "accessory" children eg Nicole Ritchie if anyone seen her on the simple life you would no she is not exactly the ideal mother, it seems to be a trend how many babies can you have/adopt and what cool accessories and designer clothes have they bought , I really think this is contributing the young girls who are actually deliberately trying to get pregnant like it’s some kind of status symbol and cool toy anybody else agree/disagree

2. I agree to a certain extent. The kids who want babies are idiots to begin with if something like that persuades them to want a child so badly. Most people (anyone with a brain) realizes they are more work than an accessory (by very very far!) Since when is puke and a poopie diaper an accesory? I think what is contributing to the high rate of teen pregnancies is lack of education about sex and getting pregnant, and to much trust in the wrong guys.
3. but that's nothing new for rich ppl, look at history, there have been nannies for them for all times, they don't have to look after their children, cause theres always someone there to do it for them. i agree that its a problem, but not a new one.
4. yes, i do agree. alot of the kids who get pregnant don't see the stresses with parenting and the stars only show the glamorous side to parenting as most of them have nannies to take care of their children the rest of the time.
5. okayyy.. welll, I was a teenage mother, and I can honestly say that your assumption had nothing to do with it, but I can say that I do understand where you are coming from!
6. I can def see you point. A lot of people young or old tend to look up to or envy celeberties and think that living their lives would be so glamours but they don't see what goes on when no one is watching. I also think that a lot of people don't realize how much work a baby really is then once the baby is born they can't handel it or just neglect the poor baby. It just makes me sad that there are so many babies and children of all ages out there suffering because they don't have parents that care enough. It seems like everytime I turn on the news there is another baby that has been killed by its parents and I just can't figure out why. My husband and I joke about how we think there should be some sort of test you shoud have to pass to have a child, they are not something you can just ignore whenever you don't feel like being a parent, being a parent is a full time job. I am sorry if I offended anyone that was not my intention.
7. i agree for those who end up getting pregnant purposely, or those who carelessly have sex without protection when they are very aware of the risks of pregnancy. but for the girls who are getting pregnant while using safe methods, i do have to have a stand for them. i'm 17 and concieved on the pill. no, i'm not ready to become a mother, but once you get used to the idea it's very exciting. just depends on the situation of these girls.
