Do you think this is a good total for spring/summer clothes for a teenager?

$387.00- Clothes from Abercrombie, Hollister, Bebe, and Victoria's Secret (Pink) I'm going with my friend and her mom and I'm remembering back to last year and my mom spent around $350.00 last year on me. Do you think that's a good amount? What my mom does is she buys one of those Simon Giftcards and puts money on it and lets me go to the mall with my friend and her mom and let's me go shopping. She was planning on putting $350.00 on it but do you think raising it to $400 is a lot? Opinions and comments please. Thanks!

  1. Jesus.. you sound spoiled. Why don't you just go to a cheaper store?
  2. ask her to raise it to about 375 because 400 does sound a bit pricey. thats a cool idea that your mom puts it on a card for u. have fun shopping
  3. no! i'd probably have over 2,000 bucks in clothes it was me.
  4. yea thats good...but spend it wisely on stuff u will actually wear
  5. umm yeah.... Shoot i dont even get nearly that much to go shopping. If i were you I would be happt with how ever much my mom was giving me. Atleast she is giving you some money.
  6. I don't think it's unreasonable, but it really depends on what you need and you family's income. If your mom paid $350 last year, I don't see 400 being a problem.
  7. If you are shopping at those places you will probably get a total of 2 outfits for your money!
  8. its not being spoiled its buying school clothes and fourhundred isnt a lot at all but it depends on your mothers income and really its up to her no matter what we say its her decision
  9. ummmmmmm......... well i just go shopping with my mom and I only spent like $200 on clothes at abercrombie/holister/victoria secret, but i would keep it to like 375?
  10. no I think that is a good amount
  11. yeah it is....i mean you dont want to spend too much just for clothes....and im not saying your spoiled or you psned too much money one clothes, but you dont need to spend that much, lastsummer i spend about 250 on clothes, because it just went to the hollister clearence, theyre stuff is cute and heap, so if you get it dirty or mess it up, you havent spent like 40 dollars on a shirt, just 12 <33
  12. i don't think $400 is too pricey, it's only a $50 difference, and since you don't shop at very expensive stores, it'll actually buy you something, like a pair or jeans at hollister, so i don't see why your mom would get mad about that. just be nice about it when you ask. <3 P.S. i'm guessing whoever thumbs-downed my answer was the same person who thinks you're spoiled. seriously, $400 is NOT spoiled.. don't listen to them.
  13. I honestly dont think you should go to holister and abercrombie. Get a style of your own. Trust me. Been there done that. lol XD
  14. seriously what do u need 400 dollars worth of new clothes every year for thats ridiculous dont u have ur clothes from last year theres no way u outgrow everything or ruin everything every year i think its way tooo much y not just buy a little bit of stuff over a longer period of time i dunno thats ridiculous i can tell ur that kind of girl by the places u shop so u dont kno any better but seriously s-p-o-i-l-e-d n a style follower
  15. that good but spend it wisely
  16. wow i wish i had that much! ask for 375! work ur way up! lols
  17. When I was a teenager, I didn't get a budget for summer clothes. I would get back to school clothes and a few new pieces in the summer. I think if a parent spends $350 on a season's worth of clothes that child needs to wear them more than for that season. I have a pretty decent sized budget for my own clothes but I work for a living. I also don't fall into the hype of Abercrombie and those other fad stores so I guess my pieces last me a little longer (I usually shop at Nordstrom and Marios). I just hope you work for your money every season or at least show a little gratitude or you can count on it disappearing one of these years. $350 is plenty of money for a teenager to shop for a season.
  18. no, its not alot. well, it IS alot of money there.. but if you think of it.. clothes these days are getting REALLLY expensive.. so sometimes about $100 would only get you like 2 paairs of pants and a shirt. or something. but 400 does seem like a good amount. i agree with the 2nd or 3rd answer. i probably have like $1000-$2000 worth of clothes =/
  19. holy.. $350 is A LOT. I used to be addicted to shopping and I got sooooo many clothes. I decided to stop shopping and decided to get a limit aount of accessories (builds up an outfit!), and some basic stuff like maybe a jean short or whatever. $350 is good. If I were you, I would shop at stores where I could get a GOOD deal. I went to bluenotes and got this shirt for $5; it was soo nice that i even wore it to my confirmation! I got it from bluenotes; they have good prices. :]
  20. i would ask for $400, its worth a try!
