City Flower Girl Shopping

To everyone who was a kid/teenager in the 80s: would it be cool if we all put 80s clothes on and...?

acted like teenagers and hung out in a shopping precinct? And had a laugh and went in shops and tried on clothes and then sat in the precinct with a stereo and blast out some cool music? And would we still get told off / moved on for loitering? Would it still be like it was back in the day...?

  1. we had an 80's themed new years party that was a lot of fun - but no, I don't think it would be the same as back in the day
  2. Ha. Love it. I wish we it could be that simple. Good times, good times....
  3. Only if we could all "pogo" & slam dance too :-) (sigh)
  4. it would be fun
  5. I'll bring my slap bracelets and my hair crimper. That would be an amazing magical day.
  6. I'm game, but I'm not bringing back the mullet.
  7. No it would be a sad representation...I wouldn't try to re-create what already happened.
  8. OK, but where can you buty Jamz in this day and age?
  9. that would fun but kinda weird
  10. I don't think my Member's Only jacket fits any more, sounds like fun!
  11. I'm not putting on Skidz or a Thriller jacket.
  12. aaaaaahhhh the good old days you needed muscles like popeyes to lift your ghetto blaster and doors as wide as egypt to get your big hair through lol!
  13. Let's go to the roller rink too, and make out with our spouses-would they kick us out for PDA?
  14. That would be way cool, dude!! I'm not sure I can get my signature "poof" into my hair again, though. lol
  15. It would be fun and I might even still have some of those clothes, since my daughter is wearing some similar stuff I could bring her and show her what is was like! But, unfortunately, it just wouldn't be the same...I know too much now. Still a fun idea!
  16. Cool! I'll wear my lace gloves, lacey ankle socks with high heels and I'll tease my hair up.
  17. Only if you had a Styx or Journey or Boston or Clash cassette tapes for your stereo! (I guess CDs would be OK.. not totally sure on that). We could talk about when MTV used to play music videos and was cool, wow that was a long time ago!
  18. LMAO.... Holy memory lane Batman!! I don't know where you will find neon gloves with the fingers cut out, Cyndi Lauper clothes or a WHAM tshirt... oh wait... those are still in my closet!! And yes, that would be like "back in the day".. Have fun!!! PS... Can I come??
  19. Am glad I was born to become a teenager in the 80's. Tried greasy hair way back then. Had mullets too. Twas the time when MTV was in it's early days and movies like 'Pork's', 'Revenge of the Nerds' and 'St. Elmo's Fire' were feel-good and date-material make-out background. And the boomboxes, tight pants and reeboks were must haves by some sub-cultures. As all said, twas a time of weird hairstyles, outrageous fashion (Cyndi Lauper, enough said)silly dancing (the pogo and slam dance to name a few) and GREAT MUSIC. Remembering the 80's is like a breath of fresh air as you step out of traffic.
  20. it was bad enough that we looked like total c*nts back then let alone going into a public place in retro lol
  21. Can I dress up as Gizzard Puke if we do this? You know the punk rocker Kenny Everett used to do? We could call our detractors facists and behave like Rick Mayell in the Young Ones, the eighties rock!
