Why, in the UK do womens shoes only retail up to a size 7, 8 or rarely a 9?

Here in the UK I see so many pairs of womens shoes I wish I could have but find they only retail up to a max of a size 7 or 8 for mainstream fashion and in a select few stores up to a size 9 or 10. FYI I am a guy in touch with his feminine side and have a total adoration for hosiery and ladies shoes, in particular heels. There are lots of girls out there with feet size 9 and over, I am a size 9 and find it soooo frustrating that I always seem to be a size out. Surely the shoe industry must realise that not just women with feet up to a size 7 enjoy fashionable and sexy shoes in feminine styles. AND the range of colours too... sigh I better stop before I get carried away. Oh, and for anyone who says this... I know there are loads of online retailers specialising in larger ladies shoes (I have a rather large collection of boots and heels!) but I really dont always want fetishistic stilettos. Just a sensible pair of 3 or 4 inch courts in a modern, fashionable style would suffice. Oh, just to point out that Next in the UK are now doing nearly all their ladies shoes and boots up to a size 9... YAY!!! Have ordered myself 5 pairs online... can't wait!

  5. My wife is an 8. that's about as big as they go here, women's shoes are intended by the manufacturer for women!. I notice Vans do women's trainers up to 9.5 UK, vans are a US firm so you may have luck looking stateside.Oh they do some very feminine trainers called Mary j, you can also custom order shoes from them for very reasonable prices.
  6. Sorry, I think its just to do with the highest average size that they can sell. Think about it from the manufactorer's and retailer's point of view - its quite unlikely that they would sell very many shoes in larger sizes. In fact, I think the same is true for people with very small feet. I have often gone to shoe sales and see hundreds of pair s in about a size 3, because they can't sell them. I am sorry for your predicament, and I know I haven't been much help. I can see what you mean about it being mainly fetitsh stuff that's available. That said, my boyfriend's ex (total bitch, but I guess this isn't the time or the place...) was 6ft tall with size nine feet, and i know she loved shoes. She lived in central London, so i'm pretty sure if you get yourself down there there will be somewhere. Actually, i remember seeing some gorgeous shoes in Selfridges of a larger size - maybe try there too! Good luck honey! xSx
  7. It's supply and demand I'm afraid: no demand, no supply. There are NOT lots of girls with size 9 feet. I know one. It is clearly not economically viable to make them.
