Why do converse/vans shoes have both mens and womens sizes on them?

both brands.. so i was at the store, lookin at clearenced flats for spring/summer, and i found a couple cute ones. Ignoring the fact they weren't in my size, i noticed that the sizes were things like "W10, M7.5"(i wear a womens 11-12) I don't get it....They are CLEARLY *WOMENS* shoes...what guy would wear zebra striped shoes or pink/chocolate polka-dot shoes? I'm just confused, anyone care to elaborate? (if your wondering, i ended up getting rocket dog shoes. awsome hot pink plad lol) and YES i'm in the USA! duh i was in the WOMENS section..duh...i only go to mens for running shoes(big foot, duh)

  1. That's just the way they make them- I don't like it, its confusing
  2. haha those shoes sound cool ♥ i saw a guy weth pink vans on one tiem, an liek, lettle white shulls an stuff haha n_n
  3. well vans and converse make unisex shoes and i guess they didn't want to discriminate against the sex of people and what shoes they wear
  4. I guess it is for the cross dressers
  5. dunno. some fashion styles these days get really weird. just ignore them. let them do what they want.
  6. Cross-dressers? Maybe they just put both sizes on every pair of shoes because it's easier for them.
  7. Probably thats what they do with all shoes they make because some of the shoes could be for either men or woman. It would take too much time and effort to only print Women's sizes on womans shoes. And then whos to say what shoes are men's shoes and what are womens? It's just easier that way.
  8. it's all computerized so when in the factory they just stamp one thing on all the shoes; it's probably a automatic converter for M and W sizes. have fun with the shoes.
  9. The have one style of sizing label made up to go on all shoes. Many of the shoes they sell are worn by both men and women anyway.Basically it save them money to make 1 style of label.
  10. Vans can be unisex so they put both of the sizes on the box. It's confusing.
  11. They make them in mens sizes but women loved them and started wearing them so they began to make it easy and put both sizes on the bottom so women would know what size to get..its that way with doc martins as well or at least it was in the past - you would be surprised at what guys will buy..nothing shocks me anymore!!
  12. uh like duh i do like no duh know why that is like duh how some shoe stores are like duh how they like duh run. so like duh dont get like the duh wrong idea like duh but this is the wrost answer like duh in the history of like duh wrong answers. uh like duh. 2+2=FISH. =]
  13. It's computerised/ automatic: basically, they can't be bothered to check whether the shoes are meant for men or women so they make them unisex + don't offend the crossdressers and lot's of men wear zebra-striped shoes (when you see a hardcore rock emo boy with pink girly trainers and a spongebob bag, you'll know).
  14. I have a pair of Vans and I've had them since spring of last year. A week or two ago one of my guy friends got the exact same ones. I'm pretty sure they were labeled woman's when I got them.
  15. Converse originally only made guy shoes but now they make both that doesn't really explain i thought u might want to know though
