womens shoes and mens shoes?

if i have a size 9 in men... what size is that for women? and vice versa? i am a guy and i want to buy a shoe that is made for women but i need to know my shoe size in womens sizes so it can fit. plz tell me what size is size 9 in men is for women. thank you.

1. A size 9 for a guy would be a woman's 10. The width may differ. Don't be shy, just try them on and don't worry what anyone else thinks. Styles vary in width. Tell them how famous you are and your in a movie. No pictures please.
2. If you wear a size 9 athletic shoe, that would be a size 10 in a woman's athletic shoe. Dress shoes are NOT sized the same. I wear a men's size 9 hiking boot, a woman's size 10 hiking boot, but in women's dressy shoes, anywhere from a size 8 1/2 to a 9 1/2. Go figure. Women's feet tend to be much narrower than men's, so shoes are often much tighter, or even too tight to go on if you have a wider foot. In a tight shoe, I find I can't even slide into some size 9's, but must buy a size 10. Shoes are not sized consistently from brand to brand either. And sometimes, even the same brand shoe, but a different style will be sized differently. My suggestion is to go to a shoe store and try things on, so you can be sure it will fit.
3. There is actually a 2 digit difference: ie, if you wear a 9 mens you would wear a 12 womens. I wear an 8 womans and a 6 mens.
